Lenz–Gazecki American Legion Post 152 carries a legacy of veterans serving veterans and community in Menasha. This page is the beginning of a growing public archive that preserves the story of the Post through photographs, printed programs, local records, and community memory.
A Post History Rooted in Menasha
The Post’s history is not only a list of officers or dates. It also lives in the places members remember, the ceremonies they maintain, and the stories still carried in conversation. That includes earlier years when the Post had its own clubhouse in Menasha, before later generations continued the organization’s work in new meeting spaces.
Remembering the Former Clubhouse
Member recollections connect part of the Post’s long-term financial reserve to the sale of a former clubhouse once located near Main and Tayco. That memory matters because it ties today’s organization back to an earlier physical home in the city and helps explain why some inherited funds are remembered not just as savings, but as part of the Post’s own local history.
Members have also referenced photographs of that earlier clubhouse. As more images and documents are gathered, this page will become a better place to share that part of the record publicly.
Legacy Through Ceremony & Remembrance
The Post’s history is also preserved through action: memorial observances, parade participation, funeral honors, and other acts of remembrance that keep veterans visible in community life. In that sense, legacy is not only about the past. It is something the Post continues to carry forward in public.
