Our Legacy
Lenz-Gazecki American Legion Post #152 has been a cornerstone of the Menasha community for decades, continuing a proud tradition of service that extends far beyond our meeting halls. Named in honor of fallen heroes, our Post carries forward the sacred duty of remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice while supporting those who continue to serve.
Our Mission
As part of the world’s largest veterans organization, we are united by The American Legion’s mission: to enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. Our vision reflects this commitment: “The American Legion: Veterans Strengthening America.”
Our Values
At Post #152, we embrace the core values that define The American Legion family:
A Veteran is a Veteran – We welcome and support all current and former members of the military, helping them transition successfully into civilian life and connecting them with their community.
Selfless Service – We celebrate those who contribute to something larger than themselves and inspire others to serve and strengthen America through volunteer work and community engagement.
American Values and Patriotism – We advocate for upholding the Constitution, equal justice and opportunity for everyone, youth education, responsible citizenship, and honoring military service through memorial events and civic participation.
Family and Community Engagement – We meet the unique needs of our local Menasha community, understanding that strong communities create strong families and a strong nation.
Our Four Pillars of Service
Americanism – We work to instill patriotism, civic responsibility, and respect for American values through educational programs and community involvement, helping citizens understand and appreciate the principles that define our nation.
Children & Youth – We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of young people through mentorship, educational opportunities, and youth programs that help them develop into responsible citizens and future leaders.
National Security – We advocate for a strong military and national defense, supporting active-duty personnel and their families while working to ensure our nation remains secure and free.
Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation – We provide direct assistance to veterans and their families, helping them navigate benefits, healthcare, employment, and housing while advocating for improved veterans’ services.
Our Community Commitment
Post #152 serves not just our veteran members, but the entire Menasha community through various programs and services:
- Veteran Support Services – We provide free assistance to veterans and families navigating VA benefits, healthcare, and other earned services
- Community Service Projects – From memorial services to local beautification efforts, we contribute hundreds of volunteer hours annually to improve our community
- Youth Mentorship – We support Scouting, youth education programs, and civic engagement opportunities for the next generation
- Honor Guard Services – We provide dignified military honors for veteran funerals and community memorial events
- Emergency Assistance – Through programs like Temporary Financial Assistance, we help military families and veterans during times of need
Our Heritage
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919, born from the shared experiences of veterans who understood that service to country doesn’t end with discharge. Post #152 continues this legacy in Menasha, where we’ve been active participants in the Fox Valley community for generations.
We stand as guardians of memory, ensuring that the sacrifices of all who served are never forgotten. We raise monuments, organize memorial services, and teach younger generations about the price of freedom. We also work tirelessly to support those who continue to serve, understanding that a strong military requires strong community support.
